Day 1: It’s back! Day one planning is done, and we are caffeinated and ready to go. From my(Heather) perspective: Grain game is a four-day camp with games that correspond to scripture. It is messy but full of love and fun. It gives us, the volunteers and leaders, a chance to love on children from the orphanage and broken homes in the area and other local kiddos. We play hard from 10-4 and recap after.
After the welcome, role call, and music with dancing… all the kids sat down for a little intro by Péter, the main speaker, leader, and MC for the week.
We started the day with shaving cream and chocolate- a super healthy breakfast recipe for sure.
If you pick correctly, you receive what you want. In the end, Péter made it obvious which has the better choice.
He compared this information to Adam and Eve. You see the reward, and are wanted of consequences, so why did we pick the wrong cup? This is why we should listen to rules, parents, and God. He sees the ‘plate of shaving cream’ and ‘the prize.’
Then there was pudding, around 50l of chocolate pudding mixed with whip cream in a kiddy pool. — sorry if the videos are upside down, we use word press to make blogging easier on us, and their phone app does not allow you to turn the video.
After lunch, we learned that sin separates us from all of the world, and from God. The illustration was very interesting. A glass (a hard heart) was placed I tip of a tea candle (God) all floating on a bed of green water in a plate (the sin in the world. As the vacuum is created, the sin (green water) is pulled into the glass and the flame goes out.
We ended our first day with water games and hats.
